Ricky Ponting posts a picture with his daughter; See what Rishabh Pant replied

At Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, Delhi Capitals were heartbroken after a sad loss to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Qualifier 2. For the most of KKR's innings, DC was on the verge of losing until they fought back with some disciplined bowling in the last overs to put KKR in jeopardy. When chasing 136, Eoin Morgan's team needed 13 runs from the last four overs, but a mini-collapse left KKR needing six runs from the final two deliveries.

In the final delivery of the game, Ravichandran Ashwin took two consecutive wickets and was on a hat-trick when it seemed like DC might pull off a remarkable comeback. In the end, it was Rahul Tripathi of Kolkata Knight Riders who spoiled Ashwin's plans with a six off Ashwin, giving KKR the victory and a berth in the final.

DC's players were saddened by the manner of their loss, which was hailed by the KKR camp. When DC lost to KKR, Rishabh Pant and opener Prithvi Shaw wept openly on the field and in interviews afterward. Players rushed to help Shaw as he broke down in tears and Pant, who was visibly moved, stood by and consoled Shaw from the sidelines.

Ricky Ponting, the current coach of the Washington Wizards and a former Australia captain, embraced Pant and offered words of comfort to the 24-year-old Indian.
