Reports: IPL 2021 to be played from April 9 to May 30 across six venues

The upcoming edition of the cash-rich contest is going to start from 9th April to 30th May considering the recent reports. The previous season has been hosted in UAE and the fans watched the whole tournament on the television due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Moreover, it took a lot of time for BCCI to host the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League which took part during the September-November period in UAE. However, this time BCCI looks confident to host the 14th edition in India as the fans started to watch the "Gentlemen Game" at the stadium with only 50 percent of allowance.

In addition to that, BCCI has been successful after the completion of IPL 2020 as they went on to commence the domestic leagues like Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy. Following it they also completed the four-match Test series against England at Chennai and Ahmedabad.

BCCI has announced the names of six venues which going to host the 14 edition of the Indian Premier League named Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Chennai. Speaking about Wankhede Stadium at Mumbai, it has been doubtful due to the rise in cases until the government gave their full support to the board for hosting the league.

Moreover, there have been some reports from Cricbuzz stated that “The general impression at the meeting was that it should be just like in Ahmedabad or Chennai, where the 50 percent crowds are/were allowed,” said one of the officials who were there during the meeting between BCCI and MCA officials and Sharad Pawar.

They were also waiting to see the results of the upcoming T20I series between India and England as all five matches going to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Coming back to India and England Test series, the Kohli-led side has won the match by an innings and 25 runs and registered their place in the Finals against New Zealand at the Lord's Cricket Ground on June 18-22.
