Pakistani right arm Pacer Shahnawaz Dahani's emotional video call with his mom before his debut goes viral

Pakistani fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani became the first Larkana cricketer to make an international debut for Pakistan on Monday.

He received his debut captain from former Pakistani captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Representing Pakistan in the third T20I against Bangladesh, Dahani won his first international wicket in his first over. He bowled Najmul Hossain Shanto clean on the next ball after conceding a limit.

Earlier in the day, the fast-paced bowler made an emotional video call to his mother asking to pray for him. In a video shared on Twitter by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Dahani can be seen telling his mother he would be making his T20I debut and asking his mother to keep him in prayer.

Dahani's mother can be heard telling her son that today she will pray for his success in the match and watch him bowl. She also tells him that she would pray for Pakistan's victory. "Today is my debut game and I'm very excited," Dahani tells the PCB media team. “I'm so excited that I can't express my feelings. I couldn't sleep for joy last night, ”he added.

“I had two wishes; one that I could debut [live] in front of my parents, but unfortunately we are in Bangladesh and they are not here. Second, I also wanted to play my debut game in front of my people in Sindh, ”he added. Dahani said his family's village is near Larkana, where he started playing tape ball cricket as a child. “I was very passionate about playing cricket. I pursued this passion and have never regretted it, ”he added.

He thanked the people at Larkana effusively for showing him love and support after taking the most wickets in the latest edition of PSL. "I cannot describe the way you greeted me when I returned to Larkana," he said. "You must be really happy that a Larkana cricketer makes his Pakistan debut today."

Dahani said it was the happiest moment of his life taking the most wickets in PSL 6. The right pacemaker said he wanted to win the Player of the Game award in his debut game and said it will be a "great achievement" for him.

"Insha’Allah, I will give my 100% in the match. However, the results are in Allah Mian's hands, ”he added.
