ICC World Cup 2021: Rashid Khan picks his top-five T20 players around the world​​​​​​​

 

The Afghan leg-spinner is one of the finest players that the nation has ever produced. He is the consistent performer for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League and has represented a few more franchises all around the globe.

Recently, the leg-spinner had a task in an ICC event where he had to pick the top five T20 players ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup which is going to commence in few days. Besides, Rashid Khan has represented his side in 51 T20I matches and has bagged 95 wickets at an average of well below 13.

During the ICC event, he straightaway picked the Indian skipper Virat Kohli as he is the leading run-getter in the T20I, having scored 3159 runs that he played at a fabulous strike rate and an average of 139.04 and 52.65 respectively.

"Doesn’t really depend on the wicket, doesn’t matter whatever the wicket is, he is someone who is going to step up and perform," Rashid Khan said in the ICC event.

Following that, Rashid Khan picked the Newzealand skipper Kane Williamson, having scored 1805 runs in T20I that he played at an average of 31.66. When asked about the reason, Rashid Khan said that he brings calm to the team.

Then he picked the South African batsman AB de Villiers and added "A destructive batsman. Someone who can give you quick runs at any stage, any wicket, against any bowler and he can play any shot. As a captain, you will always love to have that batsman."

After all, he picked the West Indies powerhouse Kieron Pollard who is one of the dangerous all-rounders in the T20 format of the game. Then he picked the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya as the 5th and final choice.

"These two will be my key (batters) who can chase 80-90 when I need them in the last four-five overs. They are the kind of batsmen who can do the job for you easily," Rashid Khan reasoned.

After representing Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League, Rashid Khan is all set to serve his nation ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. They are added to Group B and has to play against India, Pakistan and New Zealand in the mega event.
