Gautam Gambhir lashes out at the trollers for abusing Mohammed Shami after Team India's defeat against Pakistan

The former opening batsman Gautam Gambhir gave mouth-shutting comments at the trollers who took a dig at Mohammed Shami for the defeat against Pakistan on Sunday.

Having a look at the match, Team India were asked to bat first by the opposition and went on to post a decent total of 151 runs on the board. But they failed to defend the total and didn't even pick a single wicket of Pakistan and lost the match by 10 wickets and more than 10 balls in spare.

After the end of the match, Mohammed Shami has been abused by the netizens on social media even though any of the Indian bowlers didn't give the breakthrough.

On Wednesday, Gautam Gambhir shared his views in his column for The Times of India and started to lash out at the trollers for their unnecessary comments on the Indian pacer.

"...India lose to Pakistan on Sunday. By Monday/Tuesday Mohammad Shami's integrity towards his team and country was being questioned. How ridiculous can that be? Is it to say that Jasprit Bumrah or Bhuvneshwar Kumar were more committed because they belong to a certain religion? Where are we heading?," Gautam Gambhir wrote.

Gautam Gambhir shared a few things about Mohammed Shami when he led the right-arm pacer with Kolkata knight Riders and wrote "I know Shami very well as I have led him in KKR. He is hard-working, committed fast bowler who just had an off day. Unfortunately for him, it happened against Pakistan. But that can happen to anyone. Why can't we just say, "well done Pakistan" and leave it at that?"

Gautam Gambhir was not happy with Quinton de Kock after he refuses to knee down for Black Lives Matter:

Quinton de Kock

After adding a few things about Mohammed Shami, the left-hander also opened up about Quinton de Kock's approach to Black Lives Matter. He mentioned "shame" for refusing to knee down against the racism during the match against West Indies.

"I am glad to note that cricketing fraternity stood up for Shami and there was support from all corners. As this episode was dying down another one cropped up. Quinton De Kock refusing to knee down for the "Black Lives Matter" campaign was a shame.

I am not sure what are his reasons to abstain but the matter demands more clarity. Anything left to speculate in a shoot-happy world of social media is going to complicate matters even more. And remember the team is South Africa, a nation which has had its share of racism inflicted episodes," Gautam Gambhir added.
