Babar loses number 1 position as Shadab makes huge gains in the T20I rankings
Babar has been struggling for form lately as he failed to impress with three games against Bangladesh in the recently concluded T20I series. After some great performances at the 2021 T20 World Cup, which ended up being the tournament's top running shooter, Babar's form has deteriorated. The Englishman Dawid Malan has regained his top spot, while the South African Aiden Markram has also overtaken Babar and is now in second place in the world rankings.
On the other hand, Pakistan's star all-rounder Shadab Khan has made up 5 places and is ranked 9th in the world after extraordinary performances. Shadab was at his best at the 2021 T20 World Cup and continued his rich form in the series against Bangladesh and the West Indies. He is the only Pakistani bowler to be in the top 10 on the ICC T20I bowler rankings.
