Ashok Dinda was attacked by unidentified people

 

The former Indian cricketer Ashok Dinda announced his retirement on 2nd February 2021. The veteran represented India in 13 ODIs and 9 T20Is and picked up 12 and 17 wickets respectively.

Due to his lack of contribution to his team, he warmed the bench on many occasions and finally got ignored by the selectors. Moreover, the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar who showed their best with the ball has also got made it difficult for Dinda to find a place in the team.

After that, the 37-year-old played the domestic format on many occasions and finally announced his retirement from cricket this year. After retirement, we have seen many cricketers who are doing coaching classes and commentary and few have entered into politics.

Likewise, Gautam Gambhir and Navjot Singh Sidhu, the 37-year-old has also turned into a politician by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal. 

What happened to Ashok Dinda?

The manager of Ashok Dinda told that the former Indian cricketer was returning roadshow when the incident happened. His car was attacked by a hundred goons and also damaged vehicle by throwing stones which caused some minor injuries to Ashok Dinda as well.

"The incident happened right in front of the Moyna Bazaar when we were returning from a roadshow. There was one local TMC goon, Shahjahan Ali, who along with others, numbering more than a hundred, attacked with lathi, rods and bricks," Ashok Dinda's manager told to the PTI.

"There was no way we could escape as they had blocked all the roads. Dada was sitting in the middle row and fortunately could lower his head as one huge brick flew in, Shattering the front window plane," he added.

As of now, the 37-year-old has been provided with Y+ security with 20 CRPF jawans by the centre commission.
