T20 World Cup 2022: ICC Ranks best strike bowlers of all 16 teams

 

The upcoming ICC mega event, T20 World Cup 2022 is just a few days away and is going to be held in the Australian backyard. The tournament has been scheduled to kick off with group-stage games and after that, we can expect the Super 12 stage where teams like India, Pakistan, Australia, England, and New Zealand will clash against each other. Teams named Sri Lanka, West Indies and a few more have to play the group stage names to make them qualify for the Super 12 fixtures. Besides, let us have a look at the T20 World Cup strike bowling combinations released by International Cricket Council (ICC) on 12th October, Wednesday.

16. United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Zahoor Khan has been best with the ball for UAE in this T20 World Cup strike combination along with Junaid Siddique as both the bowlers have the strike rate of 17.5 and 18.2 respectively.

15. Netherlands

The Netherlands will be looking to get the services of Brandon Glover who has a career strike rate of 14.2 along with Fred Klaassen as he too has a good one of 18.1.

14. Scotland

Mark Watt will be the go-to bowler for Scotland who often picked up wickets for Scotland and has been ranked in the 29th spot in the ICC T20I bowling ranking and has a strike rate of 18.3 with Safyaan Sharif will assist him from the other end who also comes up with the same of 18.2 under his belt.

13. Namibia

The top-rated all-rounders of Namibia JJ Smit and Jan Frylinck have cherished the 6-wicket hauls in the T20Is with a fabulous strike rate of 16.4 and 13.6 respectively.

12. Zimbabwe

Relying on their pacers Luke Jongwe and Tendai Chatara, Zimbabwe will definitely want to avail their services as both of them share 28 wickets under their belt and has a strike rate of 14.2 and 18.7.

11. Ireland

Mark Adair becoming the second fastest bowler to claim 50 wickets in the shortest format of the game will go along with the young Josh Little, having a strike rate of 15 and 19.4 in T20Is.

10. West Indies

Obed McCoy has emerged as a top-class bowler for West Indies, especially in the T20I series against India, removing the opposition skipper Rohit Sharma and finishing his spell with the figures of 6 for 17. On the other side, one of the best all-rounders for West Indies, Jason Holder will provide his services from another end as both bowlers have a good bowling strike rate of 13.1 and 20.5.

9. Bangladesh

Relying on their spin attack, Bangladesh is expected to use Shakib Al Hasan as their lethal weapon in this T20 World Cup which has a strike rate of 18.2. Along with him, Mustafizur Rahman will be the leading pacer for Bangladesh who is short of just 6 wickets to claim 100 wickets in T20Is. He has a fabulous strike rate of 16.5.

8. Pakistan

Ranked 15th on the ICC bowling T20I bowling rankings, Haris Rauf has a good strike rate of 16.9 and will share his experience with the 21-year-old Mohammad Wasim, the rising star who has an impressive strike rate of 13.7.

7. England

Ranking in the 14th spot in the ICC bowling T20I bowling rankings, Reece Topley has been one of the finest pacers for England, especially in T20Is, having a strike rate of 20.9. Along with him, Mark Wood will be a great option for England as he dismissed Virat Kohli twice in the T20I series against India and has a career strike rate of 14.3.

6. Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka's two of their quality spinners Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana have ranked 3rd and 7th on the ICC bowling T20I bowling rankings. Wanindu Hasaranga has an impressive strike rate of 13.1 whereas Maheesh Theekshana has 27.27 but he can contain runs while coming to bowl in the powerplay overs of the game.

5. New Zealand

The left and the right combo of New Zealand Trent Boult and Lachlan Ferguson will be a threat to the opposition batters. While Lachlan Ferguson uses his raw pace, Trent Boult relies on his line and length with swinging in the back making them one of the best in this format. Both of them have a good strike rate of 14.1 and 16.5 respectively.

4. Australia

The No.1 bowler in the T20Is, Josh Hazlewood will be looking to provide his services for Australia in the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup. On the other side, the right-arm leggie, Adam Zampa who has been ranked in the 4th spot will be a watch-out player for the opposition sides. Both of them have a good strike rate of 15.1 and 19.1.

3. South Africa

The right-arm pacer, Lungi Ngidi has the best strike among the cricketers to claim 50 and more wickets, having an impressive strike rate of 12.4. South Africa's spin department will have the likes of 5th-ranked, Tabraiz Shamsi who has a strike rate of 17.9 which is enough to get wickets in the middle overs of the game.

2. India

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team will have the services of experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar who has a strike rate of 19.2 but has the capability to go through any best batting line-up with his swing. On the other side, Yuzvendra Chahal will be the go-to man for Rohit Sharma as he has a strike rate of 18.2 and will give breakthroughs during crucial stages of the game.

1. Afghanistan

The no.2 and no.8 ranked bowlers, Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman have been the backbone of the Afghanistan bowling attack. Both the bowlers have the capability to bowl in powerplay overs and cal also contain runs while picking wickets on both ends. Both the spinners have an impressive strike rate of 13.6 and 16.2 respectively.
