"It is a special moment for me" - Virat Kohli on playing his 100th Test for India

The former Indian all-format skipper Virat Kohli, is playing his 100th match in the longest format of the game. His 100th match is against Sri Lanka at the Mohali.

It's a great opportunity for Virat Kohli to join the elite list of Ricky Ponting, Hasim Amla and Joe Root, as all the three batters scored a hundred during the 100th match in Test cricket.

If he smashes a century in this match, the 33-year-old will become the first Indian batsman to score a hundred in the 100th Test match. After Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid and a few more, Virat Kohli become the 12th Indian batsman to achieve this feat in the longest format of the game.

Moreover, a plethora of former Indian cricketers, including the other cricketers from other nations have congratulated the latter for achieving this feat.

Congratulations to you and your family on this fantastic achievement, says Rahul Dravid

Congratulations to you and your family on this fantastic achievement. It's well deserved, well earned, and hopefully, it is just the start of many things to come. As we say in the dressing room, double it up."

After receiving the cap from Rahul Dravid ahead of his 100th Test match, Virat Kohli said, "It is a special moment for me. My wife is here and so is my brother. Everyone is very proud. It is indeed a team game and it couldn't have been possible without you.

Thanks to the BCCI as well. In present-day cricket, with the amount we play with three formats and an IPL, the one takeaway the next generation can take from me is that I played 100 games in the purest format."
