India's star pacer Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of Asia Cup 2022 with back injury
While Rohit Sharma and his men are gearing up for the Asia Cup 2022, their premium pacer, Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out after suffering a back injury. Without any doubt, this will be a huge blow for Team India as they don't have the likes of Mohammed Shami as well.
Moreover, they also don't have the services of Harshal Patel who has got fitness issues during the recently concluded T20I series against West Indies. Jasprit Bumrah's last appearance for the Indian team came against England in the three-match ODI series which they played in the English backyard.
However, considering the reports from the Times of India, a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying, "Jasprit Bumrah has a back injury and will not play in the Asia Cup. He is our main bowler and we would like him to be back in action before T20 World Cup. We can’t risk him in Asia Cup and the injury could aggravate."
Our team has started treating them normally: Sohaib Maqsood
Sohaib Maqsood, the right-handed batter from Pakistan has elaborated on his team's failure against India in the World Cup games. In a recent interaction with Geo News, the Pakistani cricketer said, "The reason for the green shirts' consistent defeat against India in World Cup matches is because the Pakistani team became overexcited.
However, in the recent past, our team has started treating Indo-Pak matches normally, and it has improved our performance too," was quoted as saying by CricTracker.
"A couple of international matches over a professional career of two decades does not justify my abilities. I was dropped from the national team multiple times due to injuries. I made several comebacks and am still eager to represent Pakistan," he added.
However, India and Pakistan have been scheduled to face each other on 23rd October in the T20 World Cup 2022. But before that, we are going to witness them competing with each other on 28th August in the Asia Cup 2022.
