IPL 2022: Aakash Chopra surprised everyone with a big update, says RCB has allotted 20 crores for Shreyas Iyer

The mega auction for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League is not far away from us as it is scheduled to be held on 12th and 13th February. The most awaited auction will take place in Bangaluru with all the 10 franchises will bid for the talented players for the next season.

However, all the franchises might have started to analyse the statistics of the players who have been added to the auction pool. Moreover, after sorting out the player's list, a total of 590 players have been shortlisted ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2022.

Among them, Shreyas Iyer, David Warner and a few more are expected to lead one of the teams in the upcoming season. Both the batters have been released by the franchise and might be roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings or Kolkata Knight Riders.

I don't think Punjab would be looking at him: Aakash Chopra

Shreyas Iyer

Considering the recent reports from other sources, Aakash Chopra has revealed a lot of things while speaking on his YouTube channel where he said, "Shreyas Iyer could be a potential captain of KKR or RCB. I don't think Punjab would be looking at him," was quoted by TimesNowNews.

"Someone told me that RCB has kept 20cr for Shreyas Iyer in IPL 2022 Mega Auction," he added. "The most expensive player, to be very honest, is going to be Shreyas Iyer.

In this list, the most expensive will be Iyer because Ishan Kishan is not there. If Ishan was there, there could've been a tug of war. Now, they will reserve money for Ishan and money will be splashed out for Iyer," said Aakash Chopra.

However, the right-handed batsman has good captaincy records and has led Delhi Capitals till the finals against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020. So, it will be interesting to see which team will rope the talented cricketers for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League.
