IND vs SA: Another star cricketer has been ruled out of the remaining two games

India and South Africa are currently engaged in the five-match T20I series, as three of the games have been completed at this stage. South Africa won the first two games against the hosts.

However, the Rishabh Pant-led Indian team bounced back well in the previous match and registered their first win in this series. Besides, the Proteas already missing the services of Quinton de Kock in this series with Aiden Markram has also being ruled out of this five-match series.

Considering the reports from Cricket South Africa, their statement read, "Proteas batsman, Aiden Markram, has been ruled out of the remainder of the Proteas' tour of India.

He spent seven days in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19 last week and will not be able to complete his return to play programme in time to take part in the remainder of the T20 series."

"The player is healthy and well and has been cleared to return home to look after his mental and emotional wellbeing after isolation in a local facility, as required when an individual tests positive on tour," it further added.

I got really excited at seeing an Indian player: Sunil Gavaskar

Umran Malik

The former Indian cricketer and one of the greatest cricketers in the history of cricket, Sunil Gavaskar wants Umran Malik to represent India against South Africa. "The last time I got really excited at seeing an Indian player was Sachin Tendulkar.

And after that, I am excited to see Umran Malik. I do believe he should play, but again they might say that let us win the third one and get ourselves in a situation, and then maybe they can think about experimenting," Sunil Gavaskar said on Star Sports.

"Arshdeep and Umran, you want to see them play at some point in the series. You are looking to pick your squad for the World Cup in October so I think they need an opportunity. They need a wicket-taking bowler and Umran Malik is a wicket-taker… we know that" the former Indian cricketer added.
