"I would give the captaincy to him for this one game" - Moeen Ali

Team India is just one day away from taking on the hosts, England in the fifth (rescheduled) Test match at the Edgbaston in Birmingham.

A lot of resources had claimed that Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the final test match against England before Rahul Dravid comes up with a statement on the Indian skipper. Moreover, India will also miss the likes of KL Rahul who has finished his surgery in Germany, recently.

India got a huge blow when their skipper Rohit Sharma has been tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the upcoming game against England. In that case, a lot of sources have suggested that Jasprit Bumrah will lead the side in the absence of the regular skipper.

Rohit Sharma has featured in the warm-up match for India against Leicestershire where he had to face Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Cheteshwar Pujara and a few more on the opposition side.

This is a big series for India: Moeen Ali

Virat Kohli

As a lot of sources claimed that Jasprit Bumrah will lead the side, the English all-rounder Moeen Ali has come up with an interesting statement on that issue.

Considering the reports from India Today, Moeen Ali was quoted as saying, "Because Virat was the captain earlier in the last series, I would give it (captaincy) to him for this one game. But it is obviously his call if he wants to take it or not.

He is probably relaxed and happy, his mind is probably settled with not being the Test captain. He's got the experience, and to be honest with you, this is a big series for India."

"If this series was finished last year, India would have won 3-1, but now, I feel the way England has played, I think India might be slightly undercooked, due to the lack of cricket in England. If England comes out the way they have played in the last few games, England will be the favourites," said Moeen Ali.
