BAN vs IND: Jaydev Unadkat recalled to Indian Test squad against Bangladesh, replacing injured Mohammed Shami

The left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat has been added to India's Test series squad against Bangladesh, replacing injured Mohammed Shami. The veteran Indian pacer has done well for his side Saurashtra in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy and helped them to clinch the title.

Mohammed Shami will undergo rehab at the BCCI's National Academy in Bengaluru and might make his comeback before the Australia series which is scheduled to be played in January 2023. Besides, this is the second call-up for Jaydev Unadkat after playing against South Africa in 2010 in the longest format of the game.

And now, after 12 years of gap, the 31-year-old will make his appearance in Test cricket and would be eager to get his rhythm with the ball against the hosts. Moreover, Jaydev Udadkat has made a lot of hard work with Saurashtra over the last five years and has given his best whenever he is on the field.

I love this space and the mindset: Jaydev Unadkat

The 31-year-old pacer has shared a lot in interaction with ESPNcricinfo last week before heading to the finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. "I do look at my individual performances, but from a way that it takes the team through, not in a way where I think if it will help me get selected for India or India A," Jaydev Unadkat was quoted as same as in ESPNcricinfo.

"At the end of the day, that's the space you want to be in and I'm happily trying to help the team win as many games as possible. If you love the way you play the game, all other things will fall in place.

I love this space and the mindset I'm currently in and don't want to change that for anything. But the hunger and fire to play and perform for the country is still burning bright," the 31-year-old added.
