" It is very hard to replace somebody of Ravindra Jadeja's calibre" - Lakshmipathi Balaji reveals the reason behind retaining Ravindra Jadeja as the first player

The bowling coach of the Chennai Super Kings Lakshmipathy Balaji has opened up on MS Dhoni ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2022. He praised the former Indian cricketer and also stated that he is the heart and soul of the Chennai Super Kings franchise.

During the Star Sports' IPL 2022 retention show, Lakshmipathy Balaji got appeared and had a few words about MS Dhoni. Besides, the four-time champion side has retained four players ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League and they are, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

It might be sad that they dropped Suresh Raina and a few others but we can expect that they would bid for them in the mega auction of IPL 2022.

While declaring the retention players names, the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings said, "We are very happy to retain Ruturaj. There is no doubt about his ability. Yes, nobody can replace MS Dhoni. For me, he is always my captain always. 100% that is the heart and soul," Balaji was quoted as saying in Sportskeeda.

Moreover, Lakshmipathy Balaji explained the reasons after retaining Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali, the 40-year-old said, "We are much looking forward to this upcoming season. It is very hard to replace somebody of Ravindra Jadeja's calibre.

He is an Indian all-rounder and a proven CSK performer in the past with the bat as well as with the ball. Moeen actually balances the team with both the components which we needed, off-spin bowler as well as proper left-handed batter."

However, a lot of fans would have expected that CSK will retain MS Dhoni as their first player that would be followed by Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis. But those surprise retentions from the Chennai based franchise has shocked everyone and made them think ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2022.
