The skipper of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli has been having an unforgettable day in the ongoing IPL season opener against the Mumbai Indians in Chennai.
Virat who have won the toss, elected to bowl first against the defending champions. He played an important role in dismissing his opponent skipper. However, he dropped an easy catch off Krunal Pandya's bat.
The incident took place during the 19th over when Krunal Pandya hit a powerful drive to mid-off. Kohli was standing in the same position but could not grab the straightforward chance.
The ball burst through his hands and hit him just below his eye. He dropped an easy catch and hurt himself as well. However, he was not the only one who missed the chances in the season opener.
RCB's key players like Washington Sundar and Mohammed Siraj also dropped the catches. Despite that, they were able to restrict the defending champions for just 159 in 20 overs.
Though Chris Lynn provided them a flying start, RCB's Harshal Patel gone through the middle order of Mumbai Indians. He troubled the likes of Hardik Pandya, Ishant Kishan and Kieron Pollard.
While chasing a moderate target of 160, Sundar and Patidar failed to score runs. However, the skipper Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell building an important partnership.
