Watch: Twitter goes crazy after Shubman Gill hits a stunning six off Natarajan's first ball

 

The Indian right-handed batsman Shubman Gill cemented his place in the Kolkata Knight Riders team after his stunning performance from the last two seasons.

He played really well in the previous tournament that held in UAE and scored 440 runs at an average of 33.84. In the first game for KKR against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shubman Gill gave a good start to his side along with Nitish Rana who is unstoppable on the other end.

The 21-year-old has managed to score only 15 runs before being dismissed by the Afghan leggie Rashid Khan in the 7th over of the game. Meanwhile, he has played an outstanding shot in the fifth over bowled by Natarajan which caught the eyes of the fans.

In the first half of Kolkata Knight Riders

After asked to bat first by David Warner, Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana opened for Kolkata Knight Riders as Rana straightaway hit a boundary of the first ball bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Following that, Shubman Gill continued the trend by doing the same in his next over. However, he could not defend the likes of Rashid Khan and was sent back to the dressing room after scoring 15 runs to his name.

Rahul Tripathi joined the 27-year-old and added 83 runs for the 3rd wicket partnership before being dismissed by Natarajan for 53 runs. Andre Russell and Nitish Rana followed him in back to back overs and been removed by the SRH bowlers for 5 and 80 runs respectively.

Dinesh Karthik played a quickfire of 22 from 9 balls including two boundaries and a six to his name. In the end, Kolkata Knight Riders have posted a challenging total of 187 runs on the board.

Their bowlers have to hit the perfect line and length as Sunrisers Hyderabad batting line-up is looking strong with the likes of David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Manish Pandey and co.
