Watch: Ravindra Jadeja takes a one-handed stunner to dismiss Chris Gayle

Without any doubt, Ravindra Jadeja is one of the best fielders in the history of cricket. His presence on the field is another option for his skipper as he has the ability to give breakthroughs with his enormous fielding skills.

Last night, he did the same in the 8th match of IPL 2021 against KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The 32-year-old first sent off the opposition skipper by throwing the ball straight on to the stumps.

Following that, he once again caught the eyes of the fans by grabbing a stunning one-handed catch to remove the Universe Boss from the crease.

Chris Gayle attempted to hit the slower one towards the backward point region but failed to do so. As a result, Jadeja grabbed the ball by stretching a full dive towards his right.

Punjab Kings in the 1st innings

Coming to the match, the skipper of Chennai, MS Dhoni asked Punjab Kings to bat first after winning the toss. The decision has paid for him as Deepak Chahar went through the top-order of Punjab Kings and scalped 4 wickets to his name.

He removed Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Deepak Hooda and Nicholas Pooran for single-digit numbers and made the opposition struggle to get runs.

The left-handed all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has removed KL Rahul by sending a rocket to the stumps which resulted in a run-out. Following that, he grabbed a one-handed catch in the spell of Deepak Chahar to dismiss the Universe Boss from the crease.

Shahrukh Khan is now the lone warrior who is keeping the hopes alive of the Punjab fans. The latter is taking on the opposition bowlers and smashing them all around the park.

On the other end, the English all-rounder Moeen Ali removed the Aussie Jhye Richardson who looked well in along with him. In the end, Punjab Kings posted 106 runs on the board.
