After asked to bat first by David Warner, Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana opened for Kolkata Knight Riders as Rana straightaway hit a boundary of the first ball bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Dinesh Karthik played a quickfire of 22 from 9 balls including two boundaries and a six to his name. In the end, Kolkata Knight Riders have posted a challenging total of 187 runs on the board.

Rashid Khan has been exceptional as he removed Shubman Gill and dangerous Andre Russell for cheap. Sunrisers Hyderabad lost the game as they failed to chase down the target of 188 runs posted by Kolkata Knight Riders.

Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey's 65 and 51 saved SRH in the middle and Abdul Samad's 19 off 8 balls almost took the game to the end.
