Watch: Jhye Richardson castled Jos Buttler with his slower yorker

The England wicket-keeper batsman got struck to Jhye Richardson after the youngster delivers the slower yorker to him.

The Australian pacer was scalped by Punjab Kings after having a bidding war with Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL Players Auction.

He was expensive in his first game as he gave away 55 runs in his spell but picked the important wicket of Jos Buttler who looked dangerous when he smashed four consecutive boundaries in Riley Meredith's over.

The scenario of the first innings

The skipper of the Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Though they dismissed Mayank Agarwal cheaply, they were destroyed by Punjab's batsmen. Gayle built a good platform for the middle-order batsmen along with Rahul.

During the 10th over, the skipper decided to hand over the ball to all-rounder Riyan Parag. He bowled his normal delivery to Rahul but had a surprise delivery for Chris Gayle. Parag unleashed a round-arm ball that was delivered from a very low trajectory.

It even made the umpires warn the bowler. But, in his very next delivery to Gayle, he dismissed the West Indies cricketer. The all-rounder delivered his normal off-spin but Gayle mistimed the ball that landed on Stokes' hands.

The stage was well set for middle-order but Deepak Hooda came out of the syllabus as he went to smash 64 off just 28 deliveries. He destroyed the RR bowling attack and smacked the bowlers all around the park.

With the help of skipper KL Rahul's destructive knock of 91 off just 50 deliveries, Punjab posted a huge total of 221 on their board.

All hopes on the Kerala batsman Sanju Samson

While chasing a massive target, Rajasthan lost their top order cheaply. However, Samson is still giving hopes to his team. Ben Stokes had been dismissed for a duck as the English cricketer miss-timed the ball and was grabbed by the bowler Mohammed Shami.

Sanju Samson took charge from there and started to respect the bowlers all around the park. He didn't get good support from the other end as Jos Buttler, Shivam Dube, Riyan Parag have been sent back to the dressing room by Punjab bowlers with the numbers 25, 23 and 25 respectively.

In the end, Rajasthan Royals needed 5 from the last ball and was hit straight to the fielder by Sanju Samson. Punjab Kings will be the happiest team tonight.
