Watch: Cheteshwar Pujara smashing the bowlers during Chennai Super Kings' net sessions

Cheteshwar Pujara is one of the regular names in the Indian Test team line-up. Pujara is a very calm and composure type of batsman which helps him to read the condition of the game to bat till the end of the innings.

Since 2014, Pujara didn't get a single chance in the IPL before the Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings bought him in the IPL Auction 2021 for a price of INR 50 Lakhs.

The right-handed batsman has played 30 games in the IPL and scored 390 runs with a strike-rate of below 100 and has only one fifty to his name. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019, Cheteshwar Pujara hit the headlines after his fabulous performance with the bat for Saurashtra.

He smashed 100 off 61 balls which included 16 boundaries and a six to his name. Besides, the 33-year-old has joined the yellow army and started his training session ahead of the 14th edition of the league.

A Twitter user posted a video of Cheteshwar Pujara while he was batting in the nets.

What's next for the Saurashtra batsman in IPL 2021?

Cheteshwar Pujara might rarely be picked in the side as they already have a lot of hard-hitting players. Moreover, the arrival of Robin Uthappa and Suresh Raina will give more strength to the batting for CSK.

Faf du Plessis will open the innings along with Ruturaj Gaikwad or Robin Uthappa as Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu will follow them in the middle.

The skipper of the side, MS Dhoni who is regarded as the best finisher of the modern era will do the late hitting along with Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo. So, it seems difficult for the 33-year-old to don the yellow jersey in the upcoming season.

However, if any of the players get injured during the game, Pujara might get into the team. Besides, Dhoni and his men will face Delhi Capitals in their first match on April 10 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
