Twitter reacts to Rohit Sharma's bowling experiment going wrong as Hitman twists ankle
The skipper of the Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma has decided to bowl the over during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. But, he ended up rolling his ankle during the run-up.
Coming to the game, Eoin Morgan decided to bowl first keeping the dew in the mind. The skipper made an interesting move and bowled the first five overs with their spinners.
The spinners did not disappoint his skipper and Varun Chakravarthy dismissed the destructive opener, Quinton de Kock. The wicket-keeper tried to clear the mid-on but only found Rahul Tripathi who grabbed the easy catch.
After losing the opener cheaply, Suryakumar Yadav joined his skipper and built an important partnership. He showed his golden form from the very first delivery he has faced.
The right-handed batsman registered his fifty before getting dismissed on 56. During his knock, he has smashed a massive six of 99m that went out of the stadium.
Even though they set a brilliant platform for the middle-order, the players like Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard flopped badly. With no support from the middle-order, they could score just 152 runs and lost all their wickets.
Kolkata's Andre Russell was the pick of the bowler from his team as he picked a fifer from just 2 overs. While chasing a moderate total, the KKR openers Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill provided them a good start.
Rohit Sharma's bowling experiment goes wrong:
They had a good chance to clinch the game but lost the wickets at regular interval that turned the match towards Mumbai's favour. Rahul Chahar and Trent Boult helped them to win the game that they would have lost.
During the second inning, the skipper of Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma decided to take the ball in his hands as both the batsmen at the crease were the left-handers.
He was all set to roll his arms but ended up rolling his ankle during the run-up. But, thankfully the injury was not bad and he continued to bowl. The last time he delivered a ball was against RCB in 2014.
