New Zealand pacer Scott Kuggeleijn joins Mumbai Indians squad as a reserve player ahead of IPL 2021

The five-time title holders Mumbai Indians didn't have a good time in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. They lost the opening game against Royal Challengers Bangalore as they failed to defend the target of 160 runs posted by them.

They are suffering a lack of contribution with the bat and big hitters like Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard have yet to do something on the field. The left-handed opener Quinton de Kock also struggling with his form after getting back to the team from quarantine.

Besides, Chris Lynn warmed the bench for the whole season in IPL 2020 that played at the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He got a chance in the first game against RCB in the absence of Quinton de Kock and missed his fifty by just one run.

The skipper of the side, Rohit Sharma has got some good starts but failed to convert those starts to big ones. Likewise, Suryakumar Yadav also played some vital knocks but could not be successful to convert it to the big numbers.
