The mega auction of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to commence in a few days as the deadline for all the franchise to submit their retention players is 30th November.

So, let's talk about one of the most loved franchises all around the globe, Chennai Super Kings who will be heading into the tournament as defending champions. According to the reports, the CSK management will retain the legendary cricketer, MS Dhoni, as their first retention player along with Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Recently, the former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has started to pick the 4 players that each franchise will retain ahead of the IPL 2022. In that case, the former left-handed all-rounder named the four players that Chennai Super Kings would look to retain before the upcoming mega auction.

While speaking to Star Sports, Irfan Pathan concluded that MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja that CSK might retain for IPL 2022.

"Mahendra Singh Dhoni yes, Ravindra Jadeja yes, Ruturaj Gaikwad absolutely yes. You might see the future in him as far as the leadership is concern, what he has shown consistency, that has been outstanding.

But the fourth one? Sometime back I was thinking about Faf du Plessis, he is 37-year-old. You don’t wanna let go of an all-rounder, either it’s Sam Curran or Moeen Ali. I would go with Moeen Ali for the fourth spot," Irfan Pathan said.

As the mega auction is not far away, all the franchises would be looking on some young and talented cricketers ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. So, we can expect some young cricketers to take part in the cash-rich contest which is going to commence next year.
