IPL 2022: Aakash Chopra feels that RCB can't buy Rashid Khan in the mega auction

The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League will see a lot of surprise after the mega auction that is expected to take place at the end of December or at the start of January.

In addition to that, the cash-rich contest will have 10 teams this time as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has added Ahmedabad and Lucknow ahead of IPL 2022. Talking about Royal Challengers Bangalore, a team that had some great batsmen like AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, KL Rahul and a few more on the cards.

However, with the other players moved to other franchises, the South African great AB de Villiers has also announced his retirement from all forms of the game. Now, the ODI and Test skipper of Team India also stepped down from the leadership and will be with the side as the leading batsman ahead of the league.

Moreover, the RCB management made some surprise retentions ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2022. They retained their premium batsman Virat Kohli and the star all-rounder who did well in the previous tournament, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj.

Fans were not happy with the decision of RCB as they left their quality spinner Yuzvendra Chahal who was the go-to-man for his skipper from his debut for the side. He provided the breakthrough during the crucial situations of the game and helped his team bounce on several occasions as well.

But due to financial issues, the RCB management and the leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal had to stop the journey ahead of the upcoming mega auction. Besides, the former Indian cricketer and commentator Akash Chopra has come up with a statement for the RCB fans.

Considering the recent reports, the 44-year-old said, "RCB will not get Rashid, they can forget about that. Instead, they will go after Rahul Chahar, big time. No spinners apart from leg spinners work at the Chinnaswamy stadium."

"He (Rahul Chahar) also bowls a lot quicker in the air. Ravi Bishnoi is also an option, but I’m thinking Rahul Chahar, will break the bank for him. Chahal might not make it to the auctions," Aakash Chopra added.
