IPL 2022: 1214 players have been registered for the mega auction

 

The mega auction for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League is going to commence in February. It is going to be the biggest auction in the history of the Indian Premier League.

As we all know, with the eight existing teams, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has added two new teams Ahmedabad and Lucknow as the franchise is yet to announce its official name for the league. As per the reports, the mega auction will take place on the 12th and 13th of February in Bangalore.

However, 1214 players have registered their names for the upcoming season and it will be interesting who is going to make the cut along with some big names in the auction pool. Interestingly, there are some international stars on the list who are expected to get big bids in the mega auction.

After the mega auction of IPL 2018, it will be even bigger as two new teams will compete with the eight existing franchisees on the trot. Moreover, the Ahmedabad franchise has officially announced their retention ahead of the contest with Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan.

According to the reports, both Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan will get a sum of INR 15 crores whereas Shubman Gill will get a sum of INR 8 crores from the franchise.

Besides, the 1214 players list will be filtered before the auctions and some interesting names like David Warner, Steve Smith, Quinton de Kock, Shreyas Iyer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Faf du Plessis, Ishan Kishan, Suresh Raina, Kagiso Rabada, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult and a lot more have been included in the pool.

Besides, talking about the Lucknow franchise, they have retained KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi for the 15th season who will get a sum of INR 17, 9.2 and 4 crores respectively.
