IPL 2021: Zaheer Khan confirms that Quinton de Kock will be available for the KKR game

The South African opening batsman Quinton de Kock has come back to India to take part in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. The left-hander has been one of the consistent batsmen for Mumbai Indians in the last three editions of the league.

In addition to that, he played an instrumental role for Mumbai Indians which won the last two titles of IPL. He has amassed 503 runs in the previous season at an average of 35.93 including four fifties to his name.

The Director of Cricket Operations for Mumbai Indians Zaheer Khan has confirmed that the 28-years-old will be available for the next game as he completed his quarantine and started practising in the nets.

Zaheer Khan said to ESPNCricinfo that "Quinton is out of his quarantine. He did his practice session yesterday with the team, looking forward to the season. So yes, he’s available for tomorrow’s game."

Chris Lynn played very well in the place of Quinton de Kock

The Australian batsman Chris Lynn has played very well in the season opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the absence of the regular opener Quinton de Kock. He scored 49 runs missing his maiden fifty for Mumbai Indians by a whisker.

He was once a regular name in the Kolkata Knight Riders team as they released him ahead of the IPL 2020. Then Mumbai Indians scalped the Aussie for a price of 2 crores in the IPL players auction.

However, he didn't get a single chance to don the jersey for Mumbai Indians as he warmed the bench throughout the whole season.

In the absence of Quinton de Kock who was spending his time in quarantine, Chris Lynn used his opportunity by clearing the RCB bowlers all around the park.

Considering the reports from Zaheer Khan that the left-handed batsman is available for the next game against Morgan-led Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
