IPL 2021: Wasim Jaffer shares Salman Khan's old tweet ahead of the first game

Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) are ready to kick off their campaign against the Samson-led Rajasthan Royals tonight at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Punjab Kings didn't have a great IPL since their final against Kolkata Knight Riders. They are yet to make an impact in the league as they didn't qualified for the playoffs after the IPL 2014 finals.

In the previous season, they suffered a lack of contribution in both batting and bowling department which resulted to lose the game on several occasions.

However, the skipper of the side, KL Rahul was the highest run-getter of the league who amassed 670 runs from his 14 outings at an average of 55.83 including five fifties and a hundred to his name.

Coming to the point, we are engaged to have known about Wasim Jaffer's recent tweet regarding the Bollywood star Salman Khan.

The batting coach of Punjab Kings has mentioned him in his tweet and wrote "Our campaign starts today. My only wish is that I get to quote tweet this Salman Khan tweet with β€˜Yes’ more often this season."

Here is the tweet:

KL Rahul's Punjab Kings will be facing Rajasthan Royals in their first game in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. Both the teams have engaged in 21 games as Rajasthan Royals have the lead with 12 wins whereas Punjab Kings have won 9 against them.

Last season, Mohammed Shami was the highest wicket-taker for Punjab who picked 20 wickets to his bag in as many games as he played.

Apart from KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Nicholas Pooran were the other players to have decent numbers in IPL 2020. Punjab Kings have bought the No.1 T20 batsman Dawid Malan ahead of the IPL 2021 with few others on the cards.

So, we can expect some tough competition from Rahul-led Punjab Kings in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League.
