IPL 2021: T Natarajan out of IPL with a knee injury

Sunrisers Hyderabad's T Natarajan has been ruled out of the ongoing IPL season due to a knee injury. He had been suffering from the knee injury he picked up during the Australia tour.

Natarajan played only two games in IPL 2021, against the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was then replaced by another left-armer, Khaleel Ahmed in the playing XI for their next two games.

On 21st April, the Sunrisers Hyderabad tasted their first win of the IPL 2021 against the Punjab Kings. After the match, David Warner had said that Natarajan needed scans but he had to leave the IPL bubble.

The left-arm pacer, Natarajan has been an important asset of the team since the last season. He replaced an injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the playing XI and solved the death-over issues.

His deadly yorker gained him a ticket for the Australia tour but as a net bowler. However, he ended up becoming the first Indian player to make his debut in all formats on the same tour.

After a successful tour of Australia, Natarajan had a warm welcome in his country. However, the BCCI did not reveal that the pacer had been carrying a knee niggle.

As a result, he has been ruled out of the ongoing IPL tournament. However, the Sunrisers have decent pacers like Khaleel, Kaul, Sandeep, Basil, and Holder in the squad.
