IPL 2021: How KKR players contracted COVID-19?

The ongoing season of the Indian Premier League has been hit by Covid scare. As a result, the upcoming game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore has been postponed.

They have decided to reschedule the game after Kolkata's Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier have been tested positive for the deadly virus. They are now in isolation and moved out of the KKR's bio bubble.

As per the reports, one of the infected players went to the hospital after complained of a stomach ache. Other reports say that Varun went to the hospital for shoulder scans.

The mystery spinner from Tamil Nadu might have contracted the virus at that time. However, there has been no confirmation about how the virus broke the biosecure bubble.

BCCI confirmed that both players were tested positive in the 3rd round of testing in the last four days. They last played a game against Delhi Capitals on 29th April.

It will be interesting to see whether the Delhi Capitals players will also be tested now. KKR's Varun Chakravarthy appeared against Delhi and must have contact with players. If the reports are to be believed, the other KKR players have been tested negative.

โ€œThe Medical Team is in continuous touch with the duo and is monitoring their health,โ€ the BCCI release stated.
