IPL 2021: Arjun Tendulkar ruled out of tournament; Replacement announced

Due to an injury, Mumbai Indians all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar will miss the rest of the IPL 2021. The team hasn't disclosed any more information on the injury just yet.

Simarjeet Singh, a Delhi-born bowler, has been recruited to the team as an injury replacement for Arjun Tendulkar, who was purchased for 20 lakh in the auction before the season for the remaining season. Since Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Sachin Tendulkar, has not played for MI this season, he has been eliminated from contention.

Mumbai Indians announced in a press release that Simarjeet Singh has been added as an injured substitute for Arjun Tendulkar for the rest of the IPL 2021 season. The medium quick bowler on the right arm completed the necessary quarantine as per IPL rules and is already working out with his new squad

Simarjeet Singh, a 23-year-old domestic cricketer, has taken 18 wickets at an economy rate of 7.76 in 15 T20 matches. In ten first-class games, he's taken 37 wickets.

Mumbai Indians beat Punjab Kings by six wickets in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday to get their season back on track. MI snapped a three-game losing skid under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, who was pleased with the result.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai had 6 balls and 6 wickets remaining as they knocked down the 136-run goal. Saurabh Tiwary and Hardik Pandya provided important contributions after the bowlers had done their job once again by restricting the opposition to a manageable total. Mumbai have now found winning momentum going into the business part of the competition.

'We all agree that we didn't play up to our potential, but it's a long tournament and we need to adhere to our strategies and read the circumstances carefully,' they said. When asked about the game's significance, Rohit Sharma said, "It's important not to lose the guard."

Hardik Pandya's return to form was the game's biggest positive. In his 30-ball 40-run unbeaten innings, the right-handed batsman smashed 4 fours and 2 sixes, culminating with a six off Mohammed Shami for a six.

The Mumbai Indians are currently tied with the Kolkata Knight Riders for the fifth position in the points standings, both on 10 points. In Sharjah, they will face the Delhi Capitals on Saturday in the early afternoon.
