After Jasprit Bumrah, another pacer of Mumbai Indians likely to miss entire season of IPL 2023

After Jasprit Bumrah another player named Jhye Richardson is likely to miss the entire season for Mumbai Indians in the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League 2023.

As per the reports from ESPNcricinfo, the right-arm pacer has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against India. The latter suffered a hamstring injury after making his comeback from the previous injury.

However, the right-arm pacer had to stay away from the field after straining his hamstring on 4th January. Since then, he didn't feature in any of the games, even for Perth Scorchers in Big Bash League.

Moreover, Jhye Richardson also didn't take part in any domestic cricket like Marsh Cup and Sheffield Shield as well. Still, the Australian management named him in the 16-member squad for the ODI tour against India which is scheduled to kick off on 17th March, Friday.

Who is going to lead pace attack for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023?

Jhye Richardson

It is going to be a huge setback for the five-time champions Mumbai Indians as they already lost the services of their premium bowler Jasprit Bumrah for the upcoming season.

The Rohit Sharma-led side is likely to rely on the English pacer Jofra Archer who has made his comeback in the recent series for England against South Africa.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians will be hoping on Cameron Green who they bought on a high note will be their x-factor for this season. Along with him, they might include Jason Behrendorff along with Jofra Archer to lead the pace attack.

Besides, the Australian management has announced the replacement for Jhye Richardson as Nathan Ellis will be serving the nation in his absence. Hence, it will be interesting to see whom Mumbai Indians going to rope before the start of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.
