IPL 2022: Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Rana have been penalized during the match between KKR and MI

 

Recently, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians have competed with each other in the 14th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League on 6th April, Wednesday. After being asked to bat first by Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians posted a decent total of 161 runs.

Suryakumar Yadav was the only batter to cross the 50-run mark and Dewald Brevis, Tilak Varma and Kieron Pollard have also contributed well, scoring 29, 38 and 22 runs respectively.

In the second half of the game, on one side, it was like Mumbai Indians almost got control of the match, before Pat Cummins' made his entry to the field.

The Australia pacer turned the fortunes for Kolkata Knight Riders by scoring the joint-fastest fifty and winning the match for his side. Moreover, he also smashed 35 runs in an over of Daniel Sams, as it has changed the scenario of the game.

Nitish Rana and Jasprit Bumrah have been fined:

After the game, Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Rana have been reprimanded and penalized 10% of their match fees for breaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) code of conduct in the same match they played.

According to the reports, "Nitish Rana from Kolkata Knight Riders has been reprimanded and fined 10 percent of his match fee for breaching the TATA Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Mumbai Indians at Pune.

Mr Rana admitted to the Level 1 offence of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction," an official statement released by IPL.

"Jasprit Bumrah from Mumbai Indians has been reprimanded for breaching the TATA Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Pune.

Mr Bumrah admitted to the Level 1 offence of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding," the source added.
