IPL 2022: Gujarat Titans opening player has pulled out his name ahead of the upcoming season

 

The England opening batsman Jason Roy has been pulled out his name ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Due to bio bubble fatigue, Jason Roy doesn't want to participate in this season of the cash-rich contest and has also informed about the issue of the Gujarat Titans team management.

The Hardik Pandya-led franchise roped the right-handed batter for a sum of INR 2 crores and was likely to open the innings for the Gujarat based team.

Notably, he has also done the same during the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League when he has to represent the Delhi based franchise who scalped him in the auction for INR 1.5 crores.

Having a look at his recent form, the English batsman was recently featured in the latest edition of the Pakistan Super League where he played 6 matches and smacked 303 runs that he played at an average of 50.51.

If we take a look at Jason Roy's IPL stats, the right-handed batter has featured in 13 matches in this tournament and has piled up 329 runs with a strike rate of 129.01 and he has an average of 29.90, including 2 fifties under his belt.

Besides, Kolkata Knight Riders also announced their new skipper Shreyas Iyer, who is going to lead Shah Rukh Khan's franchise in the upcoming season.

According to the reports from the official website of Kolkata Knight Riders, Shreyas Iyer was quoted as saying, "Yes, I was watching the auction and KKR went for me right from the start.

There were some other big franchises as well coming along and I remember the battle was going on. We, all of our (India) team members were sitting together and watching the Auction on TV.

My heart was pumping, and I wasn’t able to control my emotions. I was trying to act relaxed, but you know, andar hi andar se, I was feeling a little nervous."

"Eventually KKR got me, that feeling was amazing. I’m really proud, considering the rich history and to be coming into the KKR setup," Shreyas Iyer concluded.
