T20 World Cup 2021: "You wasted a chance in the last match and you won't get this chance every time" - Aakash Chopra

The former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has come up with a statement for BCCI ahead of the ICC T20 World 2021. He wants the Indian team management to send Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav to bat up the order.

After considering their recent form in the middle and lower order, he thinks that they can aggregate runs by coming slightly up in the order for the team. India is all set to play their second warm-up match against Australia ahead of the Super 12 group stage league which is going to commence in few days.

In addition to that, Virat Kohli and his men have to rectify the remaining errors before they face their arch-rivals Pakistan on 24th October.

According to other sources, Aakash Chopra feels that Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya might be given a chance to bat up the order in the upcoming match against Australia.

"You need people in form to finish games off and for that, I request with folded hands to send them both (Surya and Hardik) up the order. You wasted a chance in the last match and you won't get this chance every time," Aakash Chopra said.

"I am getting the smell that Rishabh Pant might actually be seen playing for India at No.4 which is not a bad idea because there is no lefty up or down the order. You want to para drop a lefty before Jaddu comes but that can wait till the Pakistan game," he added.

"You gave him few deliveries to face in the last match as well" - Aakash Chopra

Suryakumar Yadav

Aakash Chopra had a few words about Suryakumar Yadav and wanted him to bat few more deliveries to make him settle. He was not in a good form in the second phase of the Indian Premier League where he scored only one fifty after featuring in all matches for Mumbai Indians.

"If you play him [Pant] at No.4, the ones you have kept at No.5 and No.6 don't have form. Suryakumar Yadav, of course, made runs in the last match he played for Mumbai but his second half of the IPL has been lacklustre, other than one match," he concluded.

"Hardik Pandya has not made runs at all. You gave him few deliveries to face in the last match as well. So you have good players till No.4, who are also in form. At No.5 and No.6, you have good players but they are not in form," he further added.
