"Dinesh Karthik was at the other end, it wasn't me" - Ashish Nehra comes up with a sarcastic statement after Hardik Pandya denies the single in the last over

The first T20I of the five-match series between India and South Africa has been kicked off at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on 9th June, Thursday. After winning the toss, Temba Bavuma asked the hosts to bat. Batting first, India posted a huge total of 211 runs on the board.

Ishan Kishan has been the top scorer for India, scoring 76 runs from 28 balls with the help of 11 fours and 3 sixes to his name. Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant also played well in the middle and scored 36 and 29 runs respectively.

In the end, Hardik Pandya took the charge and played a fabulous 31 off 12 balls and remained unbeaten on the crease. Chasing the target, South Africa got a good start in the first ten overs of the game.

After that, Rassie van der Dessen and David Miller steal the show from the opposition and won the match for their side. Both the batters added 131 runs for the 4th wicket partnership, as they remained unbeaten on 75 and 64 runs respectively.

I think we were a little off with the execution: Rishabh Pant

Things didn't go well for Rishabh Pant and his men in the 1st T20I against South Africa. The left-handed batter shared a few words in the post-presentation and also claimed that they didn't execute their plans well.

"We had enough on the board, but I think we were a little off with the execution. But sometimes you got to give credit to the opposition. Miller and RvD batted well. Slower balls were working when we batted, but the wicket got better in the second innings.

Mostly we executed our plans (to Miller) but the wicket got better and better. We were very happy with the total but next time we are in a similar situation we will do better," Rishabh Pant was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Besides, fans were not happy with Hardik Pandya, as he denied taking a single during the final over of the game. In that case, the former Indian cricketer and the coach of Gujarat Titans, Ashish Nehra sarcastically trolled Hardik Pandya on Cricbuzz, saying, "He should have taken a single in that final over. Dinesh Karthik was at the other end, it wasn’t me."
