Gambhir reveals what India lacks before going to WC

Indian cricketers have done with the lucrative Indian Premier League and now the entire focus shifts towards the World Cup campaign which are hardly 2 weeks away from the action.

The cricketer-turned-politician has his say on team India.

Meanwhile, the former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir on Thursday had some words in store for the Indian cricket team that is preparing for the world cup.

According to Gambhir, India’s 15-member World Cup squad needs an extra quality pacer to turn things around. He went on to add saying that even the experienced pacers need support to make the overall balance of the team.

“I feel Indian team lacks one more quality fast bowler. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar need more support.

You may argue that India has two fast bowling all-rounders in Hardik (Pandya) and Vijay Shankar but I am not convinced,” International Cricket Council quoted Gautam Gambhir, as saying.

As far as Jasprit Bumrah is concerned, he has been quite instrumental for the team especially in the death overs and Gambhir thinks Bumrah will once again be the pivotal part for India and that his current form will play a crucial role for India in the World Cup.

“The wickets are going to be very flat and it’s going to be hot. So how Jasprit Bumrah bowls will decide where India reaches because it’s going to be a high-scoring World Cup,” Gambhir said.
