As the World Cup is just a couple of days, former Australian legendary pacer Brett Lee picked his top three fast bowlers for the upcoming event which is starting in the UK on May 30.
Brett Lee picked World No.1 ODI bowler Jasprit Bumrah as one of the top three bowlers for the quadrennial tournament. It should be noted that Bumrah has been in a candid form not just in ODIs but across all the formats as well.
Bumrah will be looking forward to playing a substantial role for India this time around. He has taken 85 wickets in just 49 ODIs, which goes to show that he has been the main man for India.
“What a wonderful bowler,” said Lee while praising Bumrah.
Bumrah showcased world-class bowling traits during the death overs where his productive bowling skills would come handy for India.
“He’s got a good record, wonderful yorker, good pace,” added Brett Lee, who is the member of the 2003 World Cup winning side.
Besides World No.1 ODI bowler, Brett Lee went on to pick his fellow countrymen- Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins as the other two pacers who will be performing well at the tournament.
“You’d have to stick with Mitchell Starc,” Lee told cricket.com.au.
“He’s still got that quality. When that pace is up he’s hard to go past,” Lee said while praising Starc.
Starc was named the 2015 Player of the Tournament for showing his bowling prowess as he took 22 wickets.
Coming to Cummins, Brett Lee said, “Pat Cummins: pace, accuracy, variations. He can do it all.”
Cummins has also been in good form now as he has taken 17 wickets to his name at an average of 14.29 in the six matches that he has played in 2019.
