IPL 2022: 5 players who might attract huge bids in mega-auction based on the T20 World Cup 2021 performance
In the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, a plethora of players have come out of their shells and proved themselves with both the bat and the ball. Most of the players who have taken part in the list were slower bowlers and leg-spinners who have used the UAE conditions well in the tournament.
In addition to that, the tracks in India would not be much different when compared to the UAE conditions. The mega-auction for IPL 2022 is going to commence on coming December with two additional franchises based on Ahmedabad and Lucknow. So, let's have a look at the five cricketers who might get a bid ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League.
5. Rassie van der Dussen
Rassie Van Der Dussen is a perfect team man who can build partnerships in crucial moments of the game. In the ICC World Cup 2021, the right-handed batsman has piled up 177 runs in 5 matches that he played at an average of 59.
His highest score in the tournament came against the well build England attack where he smacked an unbeaten 94 off 60 balls which went in vain. However, he is expected to come under the hammer ahead of the mega-auction of IPL 2022.
4. David Wiese
The South Africa born cricketer, David Wiese went on to perform for the associate nation Namibia in the ICC T20 World 2021. He is the top performer for his side, having scored 227 runs at an average of 45.40 and has a good strike rate of well around 130.
With the ball, the 36-year-old gave his best to the team and picked 6 wickets with an economy rate of below 8. Considering his numbers, we can expect David Wiese under the hammer of IPL mega-auction 2022.
3. Wanindu Hasaranga
The future of the Sri Lankan cricket team, Wanindu Hasaranga is one of the best all-rounders that the nation has produced in recent times. He has played 9 matches in the mega-event, including the qualifiers and scored 119 runs while picking up 16 wickets at an average of well below 10. In the recently concluded IPL, Wanindu Hasaranga went on to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore but didn't much effective with the ball.
2. Adam Zampa
The leg-spinner from Australia would be a surprise package in the list. The 29-year-old has been performing quite well in the ongoing tournament and is expected to take part in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Adam Zampa is the leading wicket-taker for Australia who has taken 12 wickets from the 6 games he played.

1. Mujeeb Ur Rahman
Mujeeb Ur Rahman somehow managed to catch the spotlight even after playing with some great players like Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi. The right-arm bowler has featured in 3 matches for Afghanistan where he scalped 7 wickets at an average of well below 6 and has an economy rate of 5.41. He will be a great addition for any franchise as he can bowl in powerplay overs and contain runs while giving the breakthroughs as well.
