India's predicted XI for the 2nd ODI against England

India has shown some quality performance with both the bat and the ball. After asked to bat first by Eoin Morgan who won the toss and decided that they will field first. Rohit Sharma opened the innings with his regular partner Shikhar Dhawan and added 64 runs for the first wicket partnership.

After the right-hander being dismissed by Ben Stokes, Virat Kohli joined Dhawan and scored 56 runs. Unfortunately, Dhawan missed his century just short of two runs as Stokes once again done his job with the ball. KL Rahul and the debutant Krunal Pandya played a vital role at the end of the innings and added 112 runs as they remained unbeaten on 62 and 58 respectively.

England in the second innings has got a good start but failed to finish the game. Indian bowlers removed both the openers and as a result, the whole middle-order didn't live up to the reputations and lost the game. In this article, we are going to see the predicted xi of India for the 2nd ODI against England.

Openers:

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill is expected to open the innings along with Shikhar Dhawan if Virat Kohli wants Rohit Sharma to take some rest ahead of the 2nd game. Shubman Gill is a talented player and can score runs once he gets the ball under his eyes.

In the first match against the visitors, Gill took the field as a substitute fielder and done his job quite well. The 21-year-old has represented India in three games and scored 49 runs with a high scored of 33. Let's see how Gill is going to perform if he gets a chance to play.

Shikhar Dhawan

The left-handed batsman will be the opener for India in the upcoming game. Dhawan was a regular fixture in India's lineup till the Karnataka batsman, KL Rahul's entry into the team. Shikhar Dhawan has to perform up to his standards and has to score runs if he wants to stay with the team.

In the 1st ODI against England, Dhawan has shown his quality batting as he missed his century by just 2 runs. Virat Kohli will be expecting the same performance from the left-hander in the 2nd ODI as well.

Middle-order:

Virat Kohli

The skipper of the Indian team, Virat Kohli continued his red hot form from the T20 series against England. In the previous game, Kohli has scored 56 runs before being dismissed by Mark Wood. He would look to continue the same form in the second game as well. Moreover, his fans were eagerly counting on him to score a century in the ongoing series.

Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav is expected to make his debut in the next match. The latter has shown his brilliant performance in the T20 series and will look to don the Indian jersey in the same style. He can bat at any position and can boost the run-rate at any moment of the game. He has amassed 89 runs from his three outings that he played at an average of well above 45.

KL Rahul (wicket-keeper)

The wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul is the kind of batsman who can bat at any position for the team. After his poor show in the T20 series, Rahul made a strong comeback in the last match as he went on to score 62 runs off 43 balls including four boundaries and four sixes to his name. KL Rahul and SKY in the middle will be a big threat to the opposition bowlers.

All-rounders:

Hardik Pandya

The flamboyant Baroda all-rounder is better known for his hard-hitting skills. He is a nightmare for the opposition bowlers once he starts to hit the ball over the rope. However, in the previous match, Hardik Pandya has sent back to the pavilion by Ben Stokes when he was at one. So, he is expected to score some runs in the upcoming match against England.

Krunal Pandya

The elder brother of Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya made his ODI in the previous match. He scored a maiden fifty in his first game and scalped a wicket as well. He will do the late hitting once the top and middle-order have scored enough of the board. With the Pandya brother in the slog overs, it will be a difficult task for English bowlers to contain the run flow.

Bowlers:

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead the bowling attack for India. Speaking about his spell in the T20 series, the 31-year-old has been sensational with the ball as he didn't concede more than 30 runs in any of the game.

He has shown his master class bowling in the previous game where the latter tied the English openers who struggled to score runs as they started to target the other bowlers in the powerplay. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 2 wickets by giving away just 30 runs in his spell.

Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur will be another pacer for India in the upcoming game. He has the ability to break the partnership in the middle-overs and can do the same in the slog overs as well. During the first match, he picked up 3 wickets after conceding 37 runs in his spell.

Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna had a fabulous match in his debut against England on Tuesday. In the last encounter, Prasidh Krishna removed well set Jason Roy and went on to continue to pick more than three wickets in the game. Overall, the Bengalore born has bagged 4 wickets in the match and gave away 54 runs. Let's see how the young lad going to perform in the next game.

Kuldeep Yadav

The left-arm china man will be the lead spinner if he gets a chance to play in the second match. In the 1st ODI, Kuldeep Yadav has been expensive with the ball as he conceded 68 runs after bowling nine overs without any wicket to his name.  He has to use his opportunity in the next game or otherwise he would be dropped from the team.
