How much do IPL players earn in the PSL; what is their exact salary?

 

Pakistan Super League (PSL) is not as much popular as IPL but has its own standards in Pakistan. It has been organized from February to March of every year. The inaugural edition of the league was commenced on 9th September 2015.

During the start of the competition, it had only five franchise whereas now comprises six. The skipper of Pakistan in limited-overs format Babar Azam is the highest run-getter of the league as he aggregated 1774 runs at an average of 41.25.

The left-handed pacer Wahab Riaz is the leading wicket-taker of the tournament who has bagged 84 wickets from 59 games. However, this year's PSL got a start but due to Covid-19's second wave, the country decided to postpone it.

Coming to the point, there are plenty of players who play both PSL and IPL league. Those who play in PSL won't get that much money when compared to IPL. Here is the list of players and their earnings from both IPL and PSL.

9. Imran Tahir 

The South African leg-spinner represents Chennai Super Kings in IPL and gets an amount of INR 1 crore from the franchise. He was the Purple Cap holder in IPL 2019 as he scalped 26 wickets to his account.

In PSL, Tahir represents Multan Sultans where he gets an amount of INR 44 lakhs. He also bagged 26 wickets in PSL as well.

8. Mujeeb Ur Rahman

Mujeeb Ur Rahman is one of the young talented cricketers from Afghanistan. He has a contract of INR 44 lakhs in PSL and plays for Peshawar Zalmi.

But, Sunrisers Hyderabad pays him INR 1.5 crore for his services for the side. Till now Mujeeb is not seen in action in the ongoing season of IPL.

7. Mohammad Nabi

Another Afghan in the list named Mohammad Nabi. Like Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Mohammad Nabi also plays for the Orange Army in the Indian Premier League and earns an amount of INR 1 crore. Nabi represents Karachi Kings in PSL and gets INR of 44 lakhs from it.

6. Daniel Christian

Daniel Christian hit the headlines when he was bought by the Virat-led Royal Challengers Bangalore for an amount of INR 4.8 crore.

Moreover, he is one of the teammates of Mohammad Nabi in PSL as he also plays for Karachi Kings and earns the same amount of INR 44 lakhs.

5. Ben Cutting

Ben Cutting was seemed to be in fabulous form in the last year's PSL and was retained by Quetta Gladiators ahead of the PSL 2021. The team pays him 63 lakhs for his services whereas Kolkata Knight Riders pay him INR 75 lakhs.

The Australian all-rounder didn't get the chance to don the jersey for KKR in the ongoing edition of IPL.

4. Chris Gayle

Regarded as the "Universe Boss", Chris Gayle is one of the most entertaining cricketers around the globe. He was once a regular fixture on RCB's cards and later moved to Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab).

The Rahul-led franchise pays him INR of 2 crores. In PSL, he was an integral part of Quetta Gladiators and has a contract of INR 95 lakhs in PSL. 

3. David Miller

Another South African in the list named David Miller. He was once regarded as "Killer Miller" in IPL for his fabulous performance on the field. Once, he was the backbone of Punjab Kings (now Kings XI Punjab) and currently plays for Rajasthan Royals in IPl 2021.

The Rajasthan-based franchise bought him for INR 75 lakhs in the IPL players auction whereas he gets 95 lakhs from Peshawar Zalmi in PSL.

2. Chris Lynn

Chris Lynn was once a regular name in the Kolkata Knight Riders line-up where he used to destroy the likes of the opposition bowlers from the first over of the game. Later, Mumbai Indians scalped in the IPL Auction 2020 for an amount of INR 2 crore.

However, the Aussie has warmed the bench throughout the whole season in IPL 2020. Till now, he has played only one game for the team. In PSL, he represents Multan Sultans and earns an amount of INR 1.25 crore from the side.

1. Rashid Khan

The third Afghanistan player on the list. Rashid Khan is one of the best players that Afghanistan has ever produced. On his day, he can go through any best batting line-up and has the ability to contain runs in the middle as well.

Sunrisers Hyderabad bought the youngster for a whopping amount of INR 9 crores whereas he gets 1.25 crores from Lahore Qalandars in PSL.
