IPL 2023: 2 Indian cricketers who worked as commentators in IPL 2022 are now enrolled as players ahead of IPL 2023 auction

The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League has been an entertaining one for fans all around the world. It was an unforgettable season as all the 10 teams in the contest were in the race to clinch the title. However, the debutants, Gujarat Titans led by the former Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya have made history by clinching the title in their inaugural edition. With a plethora of star players showing off their skills on the field, players like Suresh Raina and a few more decided to make commentary after going unsold in the mega auction of IPL 2022 held in Bengaluru. In that case, some players have once again registered their names ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

A few years back Dhawal Kulkarni was one of the regular fixtures in the Rajasthan Royals set-up. However, when he was released by the franchise, he warmed the bench on many occasions including for Mumbai Indians as well. The right-arm pacer has a lot of experience in IPL and went unsold in the mega auction of IPL 2022. After having a good stint as a commentator with Star Sports, the veteran cricketer has added his name to the IPL auction 2023 and is expected to set his base price at INR 50 lakhs.

The former Chennai Super Kings leg spinner Piyush Chawla has also worked as a commentator in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League. The right-arm leggie was once a regular name in the Kolkata Knight Riders' lineup before he was released by the franchise. After that, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings roped the veteran spinner and gave him a few games to show what he can do in this setup. However, Piyush Chawla failed to live up to the expectations of the franchise and was released ahead of the IPL auction 2021. After that, Mumbai Indians wanted to avail themselves of the services of the veteran spinner and released him ahead of the mega auction where he left unsold.
