IPL 2022: Predicting vice-captain of all the ten teams for the upcoming season
The entire cricket world knows that the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier league is just less than 8 days away from us, as it is scheduled to kick off on 26th March, Saturday.
On the first day of the tournament, the finalists of the previous season, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders will square off against each other at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
This edition of the cash-rich contest will witness ten teams with more than 70 games. However, in this article, we are going to predict the vice-captains of each team ahead of the upcoming season.
Rajasthan Royals
Jos Buttler is expected to share his thoughts with the stand-in skipper Sanju Samson for the upcoming season. There is no doubt that the English cricketer will open the innings for Rajasthan Royals and Sanju Samson will handle the things by coming down the order.
Delhi Capitals
As everyone knows that Rishabh Pant is going to lead the side, we can expect David Warner to assist him from the other side. It is clear that David Warner will open the innings and fans are waiting for his comeback in this edition of the tournament.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Andre Russell has been one of the main pillars for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He has given all he had for the side and we can expect him to play a new role for his franchise.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Fondly known as 'King of Swing' of the modern era, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be a great option for Sunrisers Hyderabad as vice-captain and can change things along with the New Zealand cricket Kane Williamson.
Gujarat Titans
After being released by Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rashid Khan will do his services for Gujarat Titans along with the newly named skipper Hardik Pandya. Hence, we can expect a great contest from both the cricketers in this season.
Lucknow Super Giants
The KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants is expected to provide the vice-captain duties to Manish Pandey ahead of IPL 2022. Manish Pandey has also led the Hyderabad based franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad in a game during the previous edition of the tournament.
Punjab Kings
The Punjab Kings management has confirmed that Mayank Agarwal will lead the side and we can expect the left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan to be named as his deputy, as he has led India in a few games in the absence of both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Royal Challengers Bangalore
After Virat Kohli stepped down from the leadership, Royal Challengers Bangalore announced Faf du Plessis as their new skipper after buying him from the two-day bidding event. Hence, we can expect Dinesh Karthik who has a lot of experience leading Kolkata Knight Riders.
Mumbai Indians
Without any doubt, Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain as he has won 5 IPL titles under his belt. As BCCI named Jasprit Bumrah as his deputy while leading Team India, the same is expected in this season as well.
Chennai Super Kings
As usual, MS Dhoni will continue to lead Chennai Super Kings in this edition of the tournament as well. However, as they have decided to let Faf du Plessis and Suresh Raina go, they might look at Ravindra Jadeja as their new skipper who will be coming under the tutelage of MS Dhoni.
