Watch: Arshdeep Singh gets off to a dream start in County Championship by dismissing Ben Foakes against Surrey

India's young pace generation Arshdeep Singh has got a dream start in County Championship while representing Kent against Surrey on Sunday. The left-arm pacer had a decent outing in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League. Notably, Mumbai Indians' batter Tilak Verma made his avenge by smashing him during a match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings.

Arshdeep Singh made his debut in County Championship for Kent and bowled a beautiful delivery to get off to a dream start against Surrey on Sunday. The ball that hit on the good length area just came swinging back to Ben Foakes which made him return to the dressing room a bit early than he expected.

Australia beat India in WTC Final:

Rohit Sharma and his men had to step out against Australia in the final of the World Test Championship 2023 which was scheduled in Oval, England. Despite losing the toss, Australia get off to a good start as they posted 469 runs on the board.

However, Team India failed to get past the total as they have been bundled by the Australian pacers for 296 runs. Coming back to bat, Australia scored 270 runs and declared the innings. Chasing the total, India failed to live up to the expectations of the fans and lost the match by a huge margin of 209 runs.

Losing the match, Rohit Sharma shared a few words during the post-match presentation saying, "I thought we started well with winning the toss, putting them to bat in those conditions. We bowled well in the first session and then we let ourselves down with how we bowled. Got to give credit to the Australian batters. Head came in and played really well along with Steven Smith. That just took us off guard a little bit," Rohit Sharma was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

"We knew it was always hard to come back, but we put up a good show. We fought till the end. We've worked hard for all those four years. Playing two finals is honestly a good achievement for us.

But we'd like to go a mile ahead as well. You can't take the credit away from what we've done in those last two years to come here. Great effort from the entire unit.

Unfortunate that we couldn't go on and win the final but we'll keep our heads high and fight. (Crowd support) It's been brilliant. They've gotten behind the time. I'd like to thank each one of them. They were cheering for every run and every wicket," he added.
