Regarded as Mr.360, AB de Villiers has announced his retirement from all forms of the game on 19th November, Friday. AB de Villiers has shared a few things about his relationship with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.
The batting great described that he had wonderful memories with the franchise and the players were like a family to him. He also added that he wants some time to spend with his family after having a lot of cricket in recent times.
The 37-year-old has featured in 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20I matches where he amassed 8765, 9577 and 1672 runs respectively. Moreover, he has played 340 T20s around the world and mustered 9424 runs that he played at an average of well above 38 as his strike rate hovered around the 150s.

AB de Villiers had a few words while announcing his retirement. The batting great said, "I have had a long and fruitful time playing for RCB. Eleven years have just whizzed by and leaving the boys is extremely bittersweet. Of course, arriving at this decision took a lot of time, but after a lot of contemplation, I’ve decided to hang up my boots and spend quality time with my family."
After that, AB de Villiers thanked the Indian batsman and his best friend Virat Kohli and the RCB fans for keeping loving and supporting him. Moreover, Superman also added that he will remain as RCBian forever.
"I would like to thank the RCB management, my friend Virat Kohli, teammates, coaches, support staff, fans, and the entire RCB family for showing faith and supporting me all through these years.
It has been a memorable journey with RCB. Have so many memories on the personal front to cherish for a lifetime. RCB will always be very close to me and my family and will continue to support this amazing team. I am a RCBian forever," added AB de Villiers.
