India is up against New Zealand in the second and final Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 3rd December, Friday. With Virat Kohli getting back to the team, the stand-in skipper won the toss and decided to bat first.

They made a few changes in the squad by adding Jayant Yadav and Mohammed Siraj in place of Ishant Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja. The visiting side, New Zealand also made a few changes after their skipper Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the second Test against India.

Talking about the first day of the match, Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill opened the innings for India and provided the start that they expected from them. Both the openers smashed the bowlers all around the park with Shubman Gill who was looked very dangerous at the moment.

A comeback hundred from Mayank Agarwal:

However, Ajaz Patel provided the first breakthrough for New Zealand by sending back Shubman Gill after scoring 44 runs for his team. Following that, the latter also picked the "Nightwatchmen" Cheteshwar Pujara for a duck.

The match looked more exciting when Ajaz Patel removed the Indian skipper Virat Kohli before he opens his account. It was a close one as umpires had no clues and asked Virat Kohli to go back to the dressing room.

Then Shreyas Iyer who looked well in the first Test had been decent with the bat in this game. The right-handed batsman went on to score 18 runs before being dismissed by Ajaz Patel. After the wicket of Shreyas Iyer, Wriddhiman Saha joined with Mayank Agarwal who was fighting alone at one end for the side.

He completed his hundred and both the batters ended up the day after being unbeaten on 120 and 25 runs respectively. Besides, the Indian fans were not happy with the umpire's decision after being given out to the Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
