Daniel Christian’s stunning caught and bowled sends Jason Roy to the pavilion

Sunrisers Hyderabad's momentum was halted in Abu Dhabi during Match 52 of the IPL 2021 when Daniel Christian knocked out Priyam Garg and Jason Roy in the same over. He managed to hang on to Roy's full-blooded smash with astonishing reflexes on his second attempt.

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli sent Sunrisers in to bat and lost Abhishek Sharma in the second over of the session. The innings was brought back to life by Jason Roy (44) and Kane Williamson (31) before the latter was dismissed by Harshal Patel for 31 runs.

To put RCB in control, Daniel Christian bowled a two-for in his second over. Roy's catch at mid-wicket, after Priyam Garg (15) mistimed a shot to deep mid-wicket, stole the show. The Australian juggled and managed to hang onto the ball after it was blasted back hard by Priyam Garg (15).

Soon after, Abdul Samad was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal as SRH went from 84/1 to 107/5. Christian's three-over spell had him at 2/14. Apart from Chahal and Christian, Harshal Patel grabbed 3 wickets to destroy the SRH batting lineup. 

Sunrisers could post just 141 runs on their board as they lost the wickets at regular intervals. While chasing a moderate total on the slow pitch, they lost their skipper, Virat Kohli and Dan Chrisitan cheaply.
