BBL 2021-22: Watch - A fan left bloodied in while catching the ball which goes horribly wrong

 

Hobart Hurricanes have battled it out against Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League on 14th December, Tuesday. Talking about the match, the skipper of Perth Scorchers Ashton Turner won the toss and decided to bat first.

Kurtis Patterson and Colin Munro opened the innings for Perth Scorchers. But Joel Paris provided the first breakthrough in the very first over of the match by picking the wicket of dangerous Colin Munro for a duck.

Nathan Ellis got the next wicket by removing Kurtis Patterson for 13 runs that followed by Josh Inglis who has been dismissed by the Nepal leggie Sandeep Lamichhane. However, Mitchell Marsh took the charge by coming at number three and overwhelmed the opposition bowlers by smashing them all around the park.

Laurie Evans has given good support from the other end and scored 40 off 24 balls before returning to the dressing room. Mitchell Marsh completed his hundred and helped his team to post a challenging total of 182 runs on the board.

Summary of the match:

Following the target posted by the opposition, the skipper of Hobart Hurricanes Matthew Wade and D'Arcy Short opened the innings for their side. But Matthew Wade didn't live up to the expectations of the fans as he went back to the pavilion after scoring just 4 runs for his team.

Caleb Jewell also followed him in the very next over bowled by Tymal Mills and scored only 2 runs for his side. Then Ben McDermott joined with the left-hander and fought at their best against the opposition bowlers and added 69 runs for the third wicket partnership.

Once again it was Tymal Mills who gave the fourth breakthrough by sending back well-settled Ben McDermott for 41 runs. The middle-order batters didn't perform up to the expectations as the opposition bowlers kept their line and length very tight. D'Arcy Short who was playing a runner ball game has been dismissed by Ashton Agar for 31 runs.

In the end, Hobart Hurricanes lost the match by a margin of 53 runs. During the match, Ben McDermott smashed a six over the mid-wicket region where a spectator tried to grab the ball but got hurt in the end. However, he didn't get a serious injury and continued to watch the match.
