While everyone was busy with England and India Test match, India defeated Northamptonshire in the second warm-up match at the County Ground in Northampton. Joshua Cobb, the skipper of Northamptonshire won the toss and asked the opposition to bat.

Batting first, the Indians posted a decent total of 149 runs on the board. Sanju Samson has been removed by the skipper of the very first of the game. Suryakumar Yadav also went back to the dressing with a duck.

Dinesh Karthik has been decent with the bat and scored 34 runs for his team. And, coming down the order, Harshal Patel scored 54 runs and helped India post a quite defendable total on the board.

Chasing the target, the Indian bowlers restricted the opposition and won the match by a margin of 10 runs. Saif Zaib has been the highest scorer for his team, as he added 33 runs for his side. 

I am growing and hopefully continue to learn: Rovman Powell

On the other side, West Indies defeated Bangladesh in the second T20I yesterday. Rovman Powell has been brilliant with his bat, scoring 61 off just 28 balls for his team.

After winning the game, Rovman Powell shared a few words, saying, "The platform was already set by captain and Brandon and I think they played well before I got to the crease so it was just an opportunity for me to advance the score and bat all-overs and I think I did that today.

I think it's a pretty good wicket. It's a very good wicket, especially for batting and you just see five or so balls and get yourself in, and then the ball just coming on to the bat and you express yourself as a batsman," Rovman Powell was quoted as saying by CricTracker.

"In anything you do, especially in professional sport, growth is a very important part and you have to grow from skill perspective to mental perspective and in each part, I think I am growing and hopefully continue to learn.

To be honest I stopped looking at myself as a big hitter. I start looking at myself as a batsman with power and with that comes control… know when to look for a single and know when to attack I think that served me well so far," he added.
