Watch: Australia's Alana Kings attempts recreating "ball of the century" in the Women's WC and pays tribute to Shane Warne

Alana King, the right-arm leggie who represents Australian women in the ongoing ICC Women's World Cup has bowled the ball of the century as a tribute to late Shane Warne.

It was the third match of the mega-event, where Australia Women and England Women have clashed with each other at the Seddon Park in Hamilton on 5th March, Saturday.

During the game, Australia Women posted a huge total of 310 runs, as Rachel Haynes was their top-scorer who smashed 130 runs for her side. Meg Lanning has also played well and scored 86 runs for her team.

Following the total, England Women fell short of just 12 runs and lost the game as well. Natalie Sciver tried her level best and remained unbeaten on 109 off 85 balls.

Tammy Beaumont scored 74 runs while opening the innings and Heather Knight played a decent knock of 40 runs. Tammy Beaumont was the batter dismissed by Alana King with her extraordinary leggie that beat the batter.

She's bowled big overs before and delivered: Meg Lanning

After winning the match, the skipper of Australia Women Meg Lanning had a few words in the post-match presentation and said, "Nice to get a win first up. Expected a contest and that's what we got.

We did well to get to 311, to be honest. Was tricky batting at the start, seemed to flatten out as the day went. She wanted the ball (Jess Jonassen), she's bowled big overs before and delivered. She probably could've bowled a few more overs," Meg Lanning was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

"Expected that at the halfway mark, knew it was a good score, but we expected the batting conditions to get better. We bowled well in parts, probably not as consistent as we'd have liked. Fielding needs improvement starting from me.

But it's good to get a win, World Cups are about winning. She bowled beautifully there, she changed the game for us (Alana King). Rod and Shane, obviously big losses for cricket and have had a big impact on the game," she added.
